Goodbye Graduation season. Hello heat and 90 degree weather. Man, I feel summer has hit early and hit hard this year. School is done for the year and so is my busiest time for cakes. Birthdays, weddings, and graduations hit all at once this past month. Below are some of the cakes I made in the last few weeks! This birthday cake was for a man who bled Buccaneer blood. When your baby's car seat cover is decked out in pirate flags it might mean you have a slight obsession! Inside was three layers of chocolate cake with a peanut butter marshmallow frosting and chopped up Reese cups. This grooms cake came from combining two cakes the bride's family found. We covered our cake in fondant instead of icing and splattered the stars. A topper was pulled from another cake because the couple had a daughter and they wanted her included in the day. Lots of strawberries and chocolate made up the two tier cake that was enjoyed during the rehearsal dinner! This last cake has me cursing and checking out new cameras. I am not happy with the photos I got but I am darn pleased with myself with the results of the cake. I had a BLAST creating the pieces on top. I mean, come on, it's not every day you are asked to create the Monster Book of Monsters. Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting helped ring in the new wizard's 11th birthday this past weekend. Remember to check out my gallery of images too. I have different cakes and items posted on the other page as well!! Have a great summer everyone!
