Creative freedom. Can you smell it? Ahhh....it's a wonderful thing.
I absolutely LOVE to make cakes for my friends and family. And I love it even more when they say to have fun with an idea. The cake from this weekend was for a newly engaged couple who spends all their time together playing Rock Band. You know what? I can't judge here. My husband tried to teach me routing protocols on our third date. Whatever your glue is....use it. Could they be any more adorable on top of that cake??

How often do you hear that someone is obsessed with flamingos?? Turtles...yes. Dolphins...sure. Poisonous dart frogs...ummm.
This week I had a birthday cake for a soon-to-be three year old who is obsessed with flamingos. And they threw pineapples in the party decorations just for fun. Why couldn't I have been invited to this party?? This weekend has been spent re-visiting old cakes and reworking them for some newly minted birthday boys and girls. The first cake I tweaked was the "PJ Masks" cake in my gallery. To make it extra special, the mom who contacted me had a small inkling that she knew me from somewhere and just couldn't place my name. Turns out our children are in the same preschool class. I changed the topper and name of course. And voila! Dane had an awesome chocolate cake with his favorite cartoon character up front. The next cake isn't really a rework. But I got the job because of my daughter's Paw Patrol cake that I made for her third birthday. This momma had a smaller budget so we picked the birthday girl's three favorite pups and this cake came to fruition. I LOVE the dark blue, turquoise, and pink together! Next up...a Llama Llama Red Pajama cake is in the works!!
