I got to work on a really fun cake this past week. We have fallen in love with our son's preschool teacher and she asked me to help make a cake for her daughter's upcoming college graduation. Her daughter majored in Public Relations with a double major in Spanish. And with that, she has had some amazing opportunities to travel and study in Europe. I made some "stickers" with fondant and edible marker. And lots of petal dust. I even attempted a Dr. Seuss "Oh, the places you will go" sticker (but translated in Spanish) for the side. French pastries were piled on top for a little fun as well. Fruit tart, anyone? Inside was a honey vanilla cake, honey vanilla frosting, and a fresh strawberry sauce. I was told there wasn't a crumb left. That always makes me smile when I hear that.
