Graduation season is almost over. Thank goodness. I have been busy with cakes and cake pops for college and high school graduations these past few weeks. I even got the amazing privilege to make the cakes for my son's preschool graduation from the YMCA. Appalachian State, Panther Creek High, Fordham University, Manhattan College....what is a Jasper?? I need to look that one up. I even get to make an Army cake next week for a young man choosing that amazing path. I only have two more weeks of craziness. And then I need to sit down and really focus on what's important. I haven't taken time for my kids or my family lately. Time is flying by. And seeing all these families celebrate these past few weeks is proving that I need to watch my kids grow. Really watch. You can learn so much from your kids. And I am not talking about who is the coolest Transformer here.
I need to hug them more. Especially with all the craziness and confusion in the world right now. I need to teach them more. I want them to know how to make biscuits from scratch. And how to stand up for individuals being bullied. They need to know how to separate their clothes for the washing machine. And that is doesn't matter what color you are, if you like girls or boys, or what religion you practice...you need to be nice. Plain and simple. There's so much more I could list. But I need to excuse myself and help my kids build a fort with pillows right now.
